The Lee County Recorder has the responsibility of registering and titling ATVs, ORVs, and snowmobiles of Lee County residents. The registrations expire on December 31st of each year. Titles are required on all ATVs registered since January 2000, and on all snowmobiles registered since January 1998.
As of July 1, 2009, ATVs, ORVs and snowmobiles are subject to the state sales tax of 6 percent plus local option taxes, if any. This applies to sales by individuals, as well as, dealers.

The annual registration fee is $17.75 between January 1 and December 31 of every year. There is a $5 late renewal fee starting September 1. A duplicate registration fee is $7.75.
New vehicles require the Manufacturer’s Certificate of origin, bill of sale and completed Application. Transfers can be made with a signed and dated bill of sale and signed title certificate together with the completed Application. You can renew starting September 1 of each year. For new registrations starting September 1, registration can be extended through the next calendar year for an additional fee of $5.00. Owners will be charged a $5 penalty for vehicles not transferred within 30 days from purchase date.
Snowmobile, ATV, and ORV Titles
The title fee without a lien is $11.50. The lien fee is $11.50.

There is no transfer fee option. The cost is $17.75 plus any other applicable fees when transferring these vehicles.
If items are processed by mail, add $1.00 mailing fee.
